Joseph Desler Costa

Joseph Desler Costa is an American and Italian artist working in photography, video, film and new media. He holds an advanced degree from ICP-Bard College (MFA) and attended the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV) in Cuba. Costa’s work has been featured widely in publications such as The New York Times, Aperture and Musee Magazine as well as exhibited and screened in venues in the United States, Europe and Asia. Recent exhibition venues include ClampArt, Metronom Gallery, Transformer Station, Unseen Photo Fair, The Aperture Foundation, Sala de Arte Moderna and Microscope Gallery. Costa has curated and organized a number of exhibitions, books and zines including group shows at Baxter St. Camera Club and Printed Matter. Costa founded the imprint Silent Face Projects and is also a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons School of Design, both in New York City.
