ICP Photobook Club: Black Frequencies (February 2025)

Explore ICP’s photobook library during ICP’s Photobook Club, a community meet-up for book enthusiasts, photographers, and lovers of printed images.

This month, explore selections from photographers Brandon Foushée and Marley Trigg Stewart in celebration of Black History Month. Foushee and Trigg Stewart will share about their practices and the photobooks that have inspired them. 

Brandon Foushée (b.1999) is a photographer born and raised in Budd Lake, NJ and living and working in Brooklyn, NY. His work explores the boundlessness of time in context with familial legacy, Black migration and invisibility. Foushée holds a BFA in Photography from Pratt Institute. His photography has been published with The Photographer’s Green Book, Oranbeg Press and Matte Editions. He has exhibited work with the Vermont Center for Photography, the Brooklyn Museum and Temple Gallery NYC. He has also guest lectured at the University of Arkansas, Pratt Institute and Marble Hill Camera Club.

Marley Trigg Stewart is an artist based in Brooklyn, New York, originally from Pasadena, California. His practice delves into the themes of landscape, history, and authorship in photography, weaving personal narratives into his work. He earned a BFA in Photography from Pratt Institute, and his work has been featured in Musee and MATTE magazines. Currently, he serves as the manager of Public Programs at the International Center of Photography. 

ICP’s reading library contains over 20,000 books and periodicals. The reading room is currently open to the public during ICP’s monthly Photobook Club, to researchers by appointment, and to members during Library Member Hours. Learn more about ICP’s Library here.
